South Africa is getting the Aphrodite 2011 World tour!

International pop star Kylie Minogue has announced South African dates for her “Aphrodite Live” 2011 World Tour. She will be performing at the Sun City Superbowl in Johannesburg on the 8th, & 9th July 2011 and the Grand Arena in Cape Town on the 13th & 14th July 2011.

Kylie has been touring since February this year and has been receiving some of the best reviews of her career with The Telegraph in the UK declaring ‘Kylie Minogue is not just a pop star any more, she is a veritable goddess’ whilst the Irish Independent said “It is unlikely you will see a more lavish event this year”. Kylie commented “I have been looking for an opportunity to perform in South Africa for a very long time so I am really delighted that I can now confirm I will be visiting Johannesburg and Cape Town in July this year. I’ve been having a wonderful time touring Aphrodite and I’m absolutely thrilled I will be able to bring ‘Aphrodite Live’ to South Africa.

Aphrodite was released in July 2010 and became Kylie’s fifth #1 album in the UK, hitting the top spot a full 22 years to the week since her debut album Kylie entered the chart. The album also made Kylie the first solo artist in the history of the UK charts to have a #1 album in four different decades. Around the globe Aphrodite debuted in the top 10 in thirteen different countries. Over the course of her extraordinary 20-plus-year-career, Kylie Minogue has been a global force in pop music and is one of the world’s most successful female artists with more than 60 million albums sold worldwide, 50 hit singles including the dance-chart-toppers “Can’t Get You Out of My Head,” “Love At First Sight,” “Slow,” and the Grammy-Award winning “Come Into My World.” She has received countless awards and accolades including an OBE from the Queen, 9 sold-out world tours including her current Aphrodite tour which will have travelled to 27 countries throughout Europe, Japan, Australia, Asia and now coming to South Africa.

Fabulous news for fans in South Africa! There are supposed to be dates announced for Indonesia, Phillipines, and Hong Kong as well, a date in Bangkok was announced yesterday. :)

Kylie's now in Tokyo!

The second leg of the Aphrodite 2011 World Tour is about to start! :)

Aphrodite: Les Folies TV broadcast premiere!


A 90 minute edit of the concert along with a behind the scenes look will be broadcast in the UK on Sky3D and SkyHD on June 19th. The concert was taped at the O2 in London April 11th and 12th. The show will be released sometime Fall 2011 on both standard DVD and Bluray 3D which is very exciting. Let's cross our fingers for some kick ass extras!

Parlophone really do seem to have some surprises in store for us because now Put Your Hands Up is getting a release in the next few weeks. Right now it's looking to be digital only but thank god it's something.
